Why This Stage Matters
Trading has its own vocabulary. If you don't understand the language, you'll misread setups, confuse order types, and make avoidable mistakes with real money. This stage is about building the foundation that everything else sits on.
Most beginners skip this and jump straight to placing trades. That's like walking into a courtroom without knowing what "objection" means. You'll lose before you start.
What You Need to Learn
Market structure — How the markets actually work: exchanges, market makers, bid/ask spreads, volume, and price action
Order types — Market orders, limit orders, stop losses, trailing stops — and when to use each one
Candlestick basics — Reading candles, understanding timeframes, and what different patterns actually mean
Key terminology — Support, resistance, breakouts, pullbacks, consolidation, trend, range — the words you'll use every day
Risk management fundamentals — Position sizing, risk-to-reward ratios, and why risking 1% per trade isn't just a suggestion

How Long This Takes
Most traders spend 2-4 weeks in this stage if they're consistent. Don't rush it. The traders who skip this come back to it eventually — usually after they've already lost money they didn't need to lose.
